IDRIS GOODWIN was praised by the New York Times for his “grown man rap” and named one of the top 30 performance poets in the world. He is recognized in the realms of hip hop music, spoken word performance, theater and literature. He’s featured on HBO’s Def Poetry, The Discovery Channel and will appear on the 2011-2012 season of Sesame Street. These Are The Breaks, his debut collection of essays, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. A highly sought artist-educator, Idris lectures at colleges, K-12 schools, and arts venues across the nation.
