This is the 9th edition in the Green Chile In The Air series which is annually produced by Diles (ABQ) has featured artists from around New Mexico, The United States, and the world. This years batch is a focused and cohesive collection of songs by an all star cast including the likes of Hip Hop pioneer Sadat X (Bronx) and underground notables such as Z-Man (Bay Area), Mahogany Jones (Brooklyn), and Krudas Cubensi (Havana) with local New Mexico and regional heavyweights such as Jungle One (ABQ), Ras Elijah Tafari (ABQ), Che Bong (Colorado Springs), MO SPKX (Denver), Alphounce Wolfe (Phoenix), Simatic (ABQ) and Ras Illy (ABQ). There are some bright new young artists featured as well in upcoming Denver star Edwina Maben and recording debut by Albuquerque’s own Rezilience. Sonically the album blends different styles of bloom-bap and trap style Hip-Hop with hints of Reggae and other influences.

Filmed in front of Kinetic fountain, created by artist Evelyn Rosenberg, located in the plaza of the metro courthouse in Downtown Albuquerque.

Water pours from one side of the beam into the large pan, the beam moves and the water pours from the other side. On the base are 30 quotes in different languages and scripts on the subject of justice and the law. The translations for these quotes appear on granite blocks inlaid into the plaza. Each quote has a visual cue to help identify it’s place of origin.

The annual international collaborative album created by Diles at Central Root in Albuquerque, NM. Presented by Visceral View Entertainment this series continues to deliver timely music each year with vibes and topics encapsulating the specific time period during the creation of each project. Much like a batch of green Chile every year offers subtle differences but overall you can begin to expect a certain frequency when playing these records. Speaking of frequency this is the 8 consecutive year of the project which makes it the longest standing series to come out of New Mexico and perhaps ever. Having featured artists from around the USA and more than 6 countries around the world, GCITA is starting to show promise as a true export of New Mexican flavor and vibe. This year stays true to the series being a platform for emerging artists and veteran professionals all at once. Most notably are features from Moka Only (founder of Swollen Members/Battle Axe Records which sold hundreds of thousands of records and won consecutive Juno awards which are the Canadian Grammy equivalent) and Scarub of the famed Living Legends crew who were pioneers in early underground Hip-Hop music worldwide. Also, Illuminati Congo is a notable name and upcoming artist who has emerged as one of Hip-Hop/Reggae’s freshest voices with a prolific work ethic. Rounding out the album is mostly the hometown hero cast of Ras Elijah Tafari, Hakim Be, Ras Illy, Laura Cruz, Simatic, Eli Del Puerto, and Kayohes. Also, Po.10.Cee from Taos, NM brought some authentic New Mexico vibes, Alphounce Wolfe from neighboring Phoenix, AZ contributed a verse and also a new voice in Keren Kmanwey from Havana who brought some Cuban flavor to the project. Another batch for the freezer!

There are several traditions you count on every fall in New Mexico. The Albuquerque international balloon festival; where 1000′s of balloons from around the world fill the sky every morning for two weeks.

Nearly every street corner boasting a chile roasting stand where New Mexico’s prized possession of green chile is roasted, bagged, and taken home to be peeled and frozen to ensure locals have it on stock until the next harvest year, and…

Albuquerque producer Diles’ (@diles_tellem) annual album “Green Chile In The Air” which continually features artists from ABQ, across the U.S.A and countries around the globe. This year marks the 5th year in the series and could be the most potent batch yet.

Having featured artists from cities such as Denver, Colorado Springs, Vancouver,Taos, LA, Chicago, Libreville (Africa), Luasanne (Switzerland), Port-of-Spain (Trinidad), Bordeaux (France), Bluefields (Nicaragua) and more… the Green Chile In The Air series is doing its part in sending New Mexico vibes out into the world via sound waves instead of our traditional export (Green Chile itself).

Volume 5 features artists such as Raashan Ahmad, Dre Z, J Gray, Illuminati Congo,The Broots, Anacron, Charles Ex, CanGo, Molina Speaks, Ill Se7en, Mike Wird, Chris Brennan, JahLan, Mr. Lion, Idris Goodwin, Po.10.Cee, and more.

Catch some green chile in the air Nov 14, 2015 at Tractor Brewery Wells Park for the album release party, featuring performances by artists from the project such as Ras Illy, Quwali, Ras Elijah Tafari, Lili G Evans, Ricky G, Hakim Be, Dahhm Life, Charles Ex, DilesCielo, while sipping on one of Tractors many beers on tap.
